Perfectly sewn suits, white blouses and classic leather accessories – Hugo Boss – a company that probably connects every one of us with the German suit manufacturer. But last Tuesday at the presentation of the new HUGO spring / summer collection 2018 at the Pitti Uomo in Florence: Free the Nipple!
As cool as the location – the show took place in a vacant factory – was also the collection. Artful prints on T-shirts, transparent tops (nipple alarm) or hand-painted elements on organza dresses, the styles of HUGO are characterized by a creative zeitgeist and scream for a younger target group. The zeitgeist is also reflected in the presentation of the show. Because not only designs for men, but also the new summer trends of women were shown. Many designers, such as Gucci , now see a classic separation of the sexes on fashion shows.
Also with the accessories HUGO cries for innovation. This is particularly evident in the shiny silk chokers, the slim strappy sandals and the metallic pockets in XXL format. The inspiration for this was probably the aesthetics of the 90s.
In terms of color, the designs do not really scream for attention. Many designs are in white, beige or black. Whereby colorful splashes of color or seams accentuate the design.
